anyone can help me with a newbie question about the caracthers?

hi all i never play this game, and i make a necromancer i think.. but i start as novice/mage do i can get my class when i lvl up?
or how it works?

and for what is the pet i have when i make the caracther?

a quest will show up when you reach the right level, like, you can choose a new class on levels 5, 15,30 and so on

It's what Brandon Felipe said. At level 30, you can transition from a mage to either a necromancer or a sorcerer, you choose. The pet everyone has is a Sprite. Sprites can help you build powerful weapons and armors suitable to your class. Since you're new, chances are high that you probably picked up the wrong type of class for your sprite. For example, if you choose to be a mage, a sprite that builds swords is gonna be useless for you, so i recommend checking this out before u continue progressing!!
