(nothing else is wrong with my system and my other 1k games run fine)
does that help ?
It just says "cannot initialize renderer"
And a downloaded web copy just does nothing wen i try to start.
I don't use Windows defender anyway, and I've tried all emulation options.
Can I somehow get the game refunded? I actually bought it from steam to get it runnin WITHOUT problems...
But I played it for 5 hours, because before I bought the graphics card, it worked perfectly, the driver is up to date.

After this the following steps must be done, or you still get an error message:
1. Copy the "ChromeEngine2.dll" into the main game directory.
2. Open the file "VideoSettings.scr" in the "Data"-folder with
a text-editor and change the values "Resolution(X,X)" so that
it matches your used screen resolution (even wideview works).
3. Edit the value MaxRefresh(X) in the same file to a number that
matches your used screen refresh rate.
4. Save the file
Now run the game from your Steam Library
But only the resolution, cause the rest stays, like you set it up in the ingame options. Strangely, after changing the ingame options, the game resets the resolution back to 800x600, so you have to do this manually again.
It's only a HTPC for movie viewing and some gaming fun on the couch ;-) Maybe that's also another reason I was able to get it running again.
With nearly the same methode as mentioned above, I was also able to get Xpand Rally Extreme and GTI Racing running (all titles are from Techland). Only difference was to start Xpand Rally Extreme in save mode for the first time.
Although all titles are quite old, they still don't look bad, especially if you set all options in the graphics card driver to the maximum possible and thus skip the in game settings, and things are possible that the game didn't support back then.
1) download old java runtime (I used jre 1.4.2_18 https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/java-archive-javase-v14-downloads.html ,
to download from official archive account is needed)
2) install it
3) go to C:\program files (x86)\java
4) copy installed version (in my case j2re1.4.2_18)
5) go to game installation folder
6) delete jre folder
7) paste copied folder
8) rename it to "jre"
I wish it would help someone in the future :)
