So what is up with the Viewing angles. Its useless. Also no Jump & no Keyboard
Ok I think this Pure Pool looks better than Pool Nation.

1st the Ball Viewing angles on this Pure Pool game absolutely suck, I mean how can you take a shot and not even making the Camera angle high enough to see over the Cue Ball. I hope there is a Fix for this as that is a Huge down fall. You can forget about doing those really hard shots as with these angles I cannot even line the Cue Ball from a Required Double shot Example from one end of the table in which the other Ball is behind the Camera View.

There is no Keyboard & no Mouse Game ability at all, what a Pain in the ♥♥♥ that is, as only option is with Gamepad and how on earth do you do a Power shot ? I have not got a Clue.

In the menus you have mouse Cursor movement for Selections and that is it apart from the gamepad.

After selecting the in Game Options I noticed that so far it looks like its not keeping my Options for like the Sound Settings.

The Graphics look Fantastic and does give Pool Nation a good run for.

In my Opinion Pool Nation Wins when it comes to controling and creating the Special Shots etc... Visually I might add.

At first it may seem that way, but this is what 1st person perspective looks like in real pool. No one aims, and hits, their shot from a standing position, do they? I don't. There is an option to stand up and examine the table from that view, but when it's time to strike the cue ball the view goes down to where it should be, in my opinion anyway.

Yea I can see your point but its definately something I was not expecting, I was stunned actually but its something I will be able to except over time I guess.

I still like to see more control like a Mouse & or Keyboard as gamepad is kinda wired.

Thanks for replying.

I don't know about mouse and keyboard, but with the gamepad if you hold the left analog up you will get a higher viewing angle, which easily lets you see over the cue ball. You can also hold X on the 360 pad to walk around, which gives you an even higher viewing angle.

Also I am able to give very powerful shots. You need to make sure you push the right analog stick forward as hard as you can. Also if you hold it down, you cue will slowly go further and further back until the tip is barely visible at the bottom of the screen; that's the most powerful shot you can do. With that technique I am consistantly able to break and pot at least 1 ball.

I haven't experianced the sound issue myself. Presumably other than mouse and keyboard controls, everythong else you mentioned seems to be working perfectly fine.

I can understand the OP. My take on it is this:
In real life we have depth perception so it's easier to line up a shot. Usually, pool games compensate for this by giving us easily accessible viewing angles. Although not entirely realistic (top down view isn't available in real life without getting barred from the pool hall) it's a good trade off for having no depth perception in a game. (untill Oculus!).
So I'm fine with pool games providing unrealistic camera options. Maybe this game should provide more.

Thank you Naoisan, for your feedback & will get back into it and play a bit more as my post is mostly my 1st impression & frustration as you might imagine. I just need to get used to the style.

Thank you Cyrus9mm, for your thoughts on this, looks like I will have to learn a new way to play PC Pool again.

I am going to give it another try now with my gamepad using the above controls mentioned by Naoisan.

The one thing I do wish you could do is tilt your view, just as if you were tilting your head and moving your eyes in real life while lining up a shot. Then I could line up a shot into a pocket just out of sight behind me without constantly having to change the angle of the shot and doing some geuss work.

But otherwise I find the first person view enjoyable and quite refreshing, really gives it a different feel compared to other games and makes it feel much more like real pool. :)

In my opinion the problem with the viewing angle can be resolved just putting the signs on the pool table (I mean the signs that in real life help you to make nice ball angles and flank plays).

If you want to play with mouse and keyboard, you have to disconnect your gamepad.

It does take a bit to get use to. They better fix the mouse implementation instead of just throwing it over the controller axis. Playing with a mouse the way it should be played takes to long to line up shots with the lack of control. If they would properly apply what we normally would have in a PC only pool game to the mouse controls all would be good. Holding the mouse and using it like the back end of the stick as many devs have done in the past is more proper and will actually help improve your real playing ability instead of using a thumb on a stick.

Well after having a good play with it now for about 90+ Minutes, I can see why they made it like they have and it seems that I am getting used to it, I am actually starting to like the game more as I get used to the style.

Thanks for that tip, if I had of known before hand, things might have been different. It would still have been good to have the Optional Selection for either Mouse, Keyboard or Gamepad.

Apparently with the Audio settings it seems that now it is saving the changes not sure what happened but at least its saved now.

I've played for a few hours now and I'm mostly fine with the camera. The most frustrating thing is not being able to accurately line up doubles or long, angled cuts up the rail.
Very good pool game with a few annoyances. The interface is way too big and intrusive. Flashing things, scrolling things, ... no need.

I think a top-down view would spoil the game. Top-down views make long shots as easy as the easiest ones. You have the option now to walk round the whole table with a head hight view before you aim your shot; why would you want more than that?

I do own the game btw, on PS4.

Actually, I do, quite a few times. :D I never realised this was unusual (so unusual, it's not in Pure Pool. :( )

Watch The Hustler and you'll see Fast Eddie and Minnesota Fats doing standing/semi-standing shots too. :)
