Try Virtual Pool 4.
Thanks anyways.
Edit: Oh God I just looked at the trailer, Virtual Pool 4 looks like everything pool nation SHOULD have been.
U.K Pool is almost a totally different game. The rules are VERY different.

It just seems like more of a challenge than U.S pool to me.
International Snooker here on Steam has UK 8 Ball Pool but you need to unlock it by doing the Snooker Championships. In terms of gameplay, it's okay but the size of the table for pool on it is a bit small. I for one would also love to see this game get UK 8 ball rules as an addition, even paid DLC would be fine with me.
I can't get Virtual Pool 4 to work on anything but online since that last update.
Which is rather unfortunate for me, considering I only paid for it to play solo offline in bored moments between RPG sessions :/
Thanks, another one for the wishlist.
The only rule that seems very different is how the cue ball is treated when a foul is commited i.e. in UK pool you get an extra shot but the ball must be placed being the baulk line rather than anywhere. I'm only a casual pool player, but the two varients seem very similiar to me otherwise.
They are, but although the World Eight Ball Pool Federation Rules have been adopted as the 'official' ones, most amateur players still play according to older rule-sets which vary more widely from the US game, not least in the 'hit cushion' requirement the guy brought up in another thread. With pool being very much the 'pub game' here, rather than a sport (that's snooker), for most casual and many ladder players 'the' rules are those taped on the wall at the pub, even if they've been there 20 years.
I don't know what Pure Pool is like but on Pool Nation this is so easy to do, it's stupid. I can pot the nine ball in a couple of shots most times.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for additional game modes even if they are similiar, but both US 8-ball and UK 8-ball pool seem like practically the same game with the exception of the advantage the other player is given when a foul is commited.
The one thing I do find strange about the game is that Ive always played US 8-ball games where the 8-ball should have a pocket called and if the ball lands in any other pocket it's a foul or loss, but that isn't a rule here.
But on that note I think rule customisation would be a really cool feature to have in the game.
Hi McShave07, I can confirm we are planning on adding a UK Black Ball mode. The rules have been coded in already by Voofoo's new superstar coder, and we'll be patching this in along with various bug fixes and enhancements very soon (and I'm talking weeks not months here).
