Needs a window mode
I do like the full screen view, but a true multi-tasker here with three video screens is a huge waste of my screen real-state. A windowed mode would be very appreciated.

hold ALT when opening the game. You can select windowed mode there.

Thanks!

For MacOS, the same can be done by holding down the Option key (not sure if all Mac keyboards have the Option key also labeled as Alt or not).

ALL mac keyboards have the alt key labeled as Alt and option.

Also, I wish there was a disclaimer in the in game settings saying that if you wish to change resolutions or view modes, you must do so by holding alt as the game loads.

Or better still, place resolution & windowed options in the Game Options menu within the game.

Next you'll want the game to play itself. Waste of the devs time.

Apparrently you're limited to a single monitor, or mindset. Either way, in-game video setting configuration is nothing new to games or applications for many, many years and requires no additional documentation or user support, unlike not having it.

Alt+Enter )

None of the above solutions are working for me. Game starts on my left monitor instead of the middle one. Would be nice to be able to at least select which monitor to put it on or have windowed mode... Holding Alt and trying Alt+Enter don't seem to work for me. Is there a config file or command line option I could try instead?

Edit $HOME/.config/unity3d/Zachtronics/Infiniminer/prefs. It's an XML file, and it should be straightforward to change the resolution and fullscreenness. However, if you set "Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode" to false (0), the game will start in windowed mode and quickly switch to fullscreen. It looks like you can't run the game in windowed mode, at least not on Linux.

This also happens using the "HOLD ALT" menu, at least on Windows 8!

Thread necromancy! This is still an issue on Windows 8.1. I can open this alt menu and set the game to be windowed, but it immediately reverts once the game finishes launching.

Also, I can't find the prefs file that dhasenan mentioned.

that location is for linux, i'm goin to assume windows is somewhere in %appdata%, maybe search zachtronics in your user profile folder (not mydocs, the parent of it)

http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Infinifactory#Configuration_file.28s.29_location well it looks like someone needs to update the wiki
