Won't get fooled again
Wasted money and time on the first Shadowrun which was a huge dissappointment. Don't buy.

What an insightful review. Oh wait, no. It's the complete opposite of that. If you only played the original Shadowrun Returns campaign Dead Man's Switch you're in no position to judge Dragonfall as you've not even played it.

On-rails linear story and huge amounts of player choices that don't matter combined with unbalanced gameplay and clunky combat? Yeah, I'd say I know what Shadowrun is about.

Clearly not.
Yeah this guy hasn't played Dragonfall, has he? Lol.

DMS is pretty solid and dragonfall is incredible great. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ review from someone who didnt played the game
DMS, though I found it enjoyable, did have some serious issues. Unbalanced skill checks, extremely linear, side quests disappearing without warning if you go "too far" in the story, etc. It was good but very flawed.

DF, on the other hand, was much more enjoyable. I've only played the DC btw. But in any case - MUCH better writing, interesting companions, a more "Bioware-esque" quest structure (Linear beginning, tons of freedom and sidequests in the middle, then linear thrill-ride of an ending with PLENTY of warning when you're going to the "point of no return"). Skill checks are still unbalanced, and the game's still a bit janky in some ways (unselectable squares next to interactable objects, I'm looking at you :P), but it's much improved and a truly fantastic experience.

Much longer campaign too. DMS took me 11 hours, and I'm at 25 and counting in DF. Worth every single penny of the $15 purchase price.

Well, that's your opinion Douglas, mine is that DMS and Dragonfall are the best things that happened to PC RPG since Planescape Torment. Not least.

Cool story bro.

Honestly, I understand that guy. Shadowrun Returns was a good catch, but also had many flaws, that got corrected partitially later on by community modders with content packs.
Especially :
Melee (unarmed) - mhh? Aoe? AP dmg? without KillingHands +crazy Strenght - very weak
Melee (weapon) - best skill is Cleave (1AP AoE) - but weak below 100 points (3AP) lol
Adept - Counterstrike is the only good Skill, but not as usefull as you might think
Rigger - below 80points almost unplayable, starts getting average at 150points (too late!!)

If you want fun, take a Mage or Samurai and add Heal , Haste 2/3 or for Ranged some CyberTech-implants. Or create a Decker with SMG/Rifle and Heal.
Those play like a Shadowrunner! ..from first Minute to End^^

Not to talk about some buggy Skills - even in Dragonfall ;D

Regarding what else I get for 15€.. Dragonfall (which was free DLC before) is only worth 5-7€ !! and that´s okay for a new mission pack / Expansion ;-)

Leaving aside the flaws – which are there, and some new bugs are really not fun …
What? "free DLC" for whom? (I assume the Kickstarter backers paid more altogether)
And if you value your time so little, I'd be glad to pay you 2 €/h for some work.

sadly one of the most complex systems in the pen and paper universe was crippled and dumped down to hell. that i will never forgive the devs. but the writing is maybe the best since torment and thats a really big compliment.
dragonfall made things so much better in overall gameplay than dms, so if you dont played it stfu

And it's because it's so complex you'd never make a decent videogame out of it. It's a framework that needs a GM making judgement calls when you do something weird. You can't not dumb it down. That said it is a bit too dumb.

But it's well written and story interactivity is much higher then DMS's so ♥♥♥♥ it.

sry but things like inventory managment, ammo, etc are not so uncommon in pc games. it was dumbed down to this level because they want it to sell on tablets, thats all.

Like I said, it went too far.

Soooo.... I should buy the PnP version? I'm new to SR and was originally put off by the negative reviews for DMS, interested enough to check out the SNES game though - which I have not completed yet, but enjoyed a lot - and wasn't disappointed with DMS, DF:DC when I did bite (DF is better of course, but DMS still sucked me into the setting and writting).

SR is the only cRPG i've considered looking into the PnP (I like D&D mechanics, I dis-like the standard/cliche fantasy settings. SR is something else entirely) and I'm almost sold. I'm aware the cRPGs will have their differences, but how much different is the PnP? And how is the campaign writting (like... on par with DMS/DF?) etc...?
