Jacking out glitch

I am attempting to exit the matrix after getting the data in the very beginning of the game. The character disappears and the screen darkens but there is no transition back to the mansion. I've spent the last 10 minutes googling the bug, yet it seems nobody else had encountered it. I also tried re-playing the level but the same thing occurred again.
And here I was thinking that this game is an improvement. Is there any way to get out of the matrix?

It might have something to do with the cheat character you have on there. Perhaps a trigger is not firing properly.

Cheat character? hahaha
That's just some dummy character sheet that replaces the decker after she exits the matrix. I thought the screenshot would help, as the game doesn't offer anything else afterwards.

I don't have much experience with Shadowrun and haven't seen any red arrows on the UI. I simply went back to the point I'd arrived from.

Moreover, I saved the game after returning to the safehouse after the first mission but now all of my saves (manual, quick, autosave) are gone. This is all sorts of weird as my impression was that the game is in its final, patched up state.

If you can't get the game to load back to the mansion then how did you even finish it and get to the safe house? The games's been out for a few years now and I cannot recall anyone having save issues like are. Are you trying to play from multiple devices? I wonder if your Steam Cloud is messing up.

I managed to overcome it since then by quicksaving while glitched, then loading the save which puts the team outside the matrix in a corner of the first map.

So, does anyone know what happens to savegames in this game? I finished saving manually at the bazar yesterday but today there are no saves left associated with that character.

Check to make sure your cloud is functioning properly. I recall a few people having an issue with disappearing saves when DMS first came out, but nothing like that in a few years. I wish I could be of more help.
