Charisma is oft overlooked in RPGs but really valuabe.
This. Bioware pheromones, and a few points in char. As long as you have 5? and a decker (or points yourself), you're good to go.
You can also hit the escape door way ahead of time ... bluff the guards ... and unlock it, so that the group can just duck through it during the escape.
This acivated all the blood mages, but I had Eiger and Dietrich well positioned to take them out, while Blitz jacked out the same turn and opened up with his SMG. Oh, and I left his stupid drone home, and gave him the grenade launcher we scored during the "settling debts" mission instead.
And yes, Charisma 6 with the 3 key etiquettes (security, gang, corporate) makes things so much easier throughout the game.
never even bothered with bioware pheromones, I just buy it up natural with karma. I alway start with at least charisma 4 out the gate to start with gang+1 additional etiquette since Dragonfall uses that one at a lot of key encounters. Then it's trivial getting your charisma up to 6 or more.
Seriously everyone, your main is your team's face MAKE HIM ONE! There is way enough karma to still make him a cybered killing machine or a legendary level mage, even if you take the time to give him people skills.
