What do I do in the matrix?

I'm standing next to this pillar that says data store. What do i do now? Doesnt seem to be a way to take the data if im supposed to? Just started.

Once you've killed off all the ICE so it turns from red to white just click on it to interact like with everything else in the game.

Well, there was green text on the pillar that said something like 'date code' or date info.

I dunno i left and moved on.

You probably picked up valuable info that later you can sell. Or info that you'll need to solve puzzles in game. Other times you get control over things (turrets, doors, etc) that helps with moving around and in fights.

It's generally good idea to read carefully what's on screen as this is largely text-based game. You can enjoy story more that way too.

Green means you've already interacted with said Matrix node IIRC...

Yeah, i found a mission in the mission tab that I think was the reward.
