Can I not make Dietrich use the spells that I purchase?

I bought arour III and I can't figure out how to make him use the thing. In the mission team roster thing I seem to be limited to changing the items of the other shadowrunners, and they
seem determined to not let me choose anything else they bring with them.

I've just done the Aztechnology missions, and nearly have the 50,000 for the Alice fund so I'm fairly advanced in this campaign by my estimation.

Each NPC has it´s own way of development and a lot of places in their inventory are fixed. as long as there is a free space AND the NPC mets the requirements for them you can lend them spells, weapons and other goodies.
