Stuck playing as Eiger :/

I was on the final stage of the Lockdown mission to retrieve Ezkibel's meat and although my main character was dying with a single turn left to live I managed to kill the final enemy. Except those dumb robots who aid you during the stage got one last round for some reason "Neutral is moving" so despite succesfully completing the mission my main character slumps over and dies.

So now I'm Eiger, I get to play with her inventory and skillset and all the usual beef. I at first assumed this was a normal game mechanic until I returned to the safe house and had a discussion with Eiger... as Eiger.

Weird stuff.

Yep, you broke the game and need to reload.

Yeah, I had to rewind an autosave, meaning I likely have to do the entire mission again, but I'm keeping the Eiger save too. Some day it might be worth magic beans or something.
