if it's the job I'm thinking of, then the "best" outcome is gained by killing him immediately without even listening to him (3 extra Karma!). I don't think you get the "pain inducer", though, and most of your team won't like it.

According to the wiki, you can free him and later on kill him when someone working for the guy who hired you shows up, as long as you have Ettiqutte Shadowrunner, and presumably (it's not clear) get the whole reward and the gun - but not the extra karma.

Just setting him free gets you money and the pain inducer but no Karma.

to me it's funny how neither your employer nor your team trusts you to deliver :) if you send 2nd team to mess with my run sure as hell i'll waste them :p

I actually really like missions where there's a real choice in rewards that affect how you play through the run. But I'll probably take Karma over a gun any time.

"Trial Run" (the first mission for the Lodge) also has a couple different outcomes, although mostly they just affect whether or not you get to work for the Lodge again.

lot depends on gun. this gun imo totally worth it.

I've never used it, but on paper it looks impressive. It's a taser that only uses Ranged Combat skill, though, so Pistol skills are useless (that's true of all tasers).

Also, how does the AOE on it work?

Anyway, it SOUNDS like the best way to get the gun and most of the rest of the rewards is to make sure you have Shadowrunner etiquette before starting the mission. Which I'm gonna do in a bit, so I'll let you know how it works out.

iirc mag size's 2 and that alone means you totally want it. with this and shaman barrier spell your team gets tons of crowd control.

The Yamaha Pulsar, which also has a mag size of 2, might actually be better, depending on your preferences and character setup:

PROS:
- Also has a magazine size of 2
- YP only takes 1 AP to reload (Inducer needs 2 AP).
- You can get it cheap and without losing out on bonus Karma.

CONS:
- No AOE.
- Needs 5 Ranged Combat to equip (Inducer has no requirements).
- Lower accuracy(?) - although if you've sunk five points into Ranged, that probably helps.
- Same stun but half the physical damage (they both do piddly little amounts anyway, that's not why you're using a taser).

i.e. it's better for stun-locking a single target (boss), not as good at crowd control.

OK so I've played through it and the six(!) possible mission outcomes are

Killing him:
- Kill him *immediately*: +3 Karma for being a professional, most of your team thinks you're cold but Eiger approves.

- Listen to him then kill him: you get nothing but the regular mission rewards.

Letting him go (at least at first) - this will really annoy Eiger:

- Kill him when confronted by the goons, Shadowrunner eti: +1 Karma, no Pain Inducer, all your team likes this.

- Kill him when confronted by the goons (or turn him over to them), no Shadowrunner eti: +1 Karma, no Pain Inducer, goons aren't happy but say you'll still get paid.

- Kill goons, then kill him in autodoc: Pain Inducer, nobody is particularly happy.

- Kill goons, let him go: Pain Inducer, everyone hates this.

I don't think there are any long term consequences for any choice, and I'm not sure whether your team "likes" the outcome counts for anything (it might make it harder to get their backstory and loyalty missions?). As far as I can tell every outcome results in you getting the same amount of money one way or another.
