What's the difference between the three games?
I have shadowrun returns and just want to know what's the difference between the three games. What I have read dragon fall seems to be the same as the first game with just all the elf and some fixes. What is the Hong Kong game like? Anyone own all three and have some advice.

There are some quality of life improvements in the others. In Dragonfall you can have some imput in what paths your regular team takes as they advance with you. There are numerous small tweaks and some new portraits. Hong Kong continues and improves crew advancement AND (my personal favorite) Hong Kong lets you proactively go into combat mode to get the drop on enemies in some situations.

Another thing I dig about Hong Kong is that equipment in your stash can be given to your team during load-out before a mission. Not only does that give you a use for a great piece of equipment you find but can't use yourself, it also lets you buy extra spells for your mages, programs for your deckers, etc. And all three have very different storylines and setting flavor, even if mechanically they're similar.

[EDIT: I just had my NPC teammates level up enough in Dragonfall that I can give them extra equipment, too, so at least Dragonfall also has that functionality. It seemed to happen much sooner in Hong Kong, though]

Shadowrun Returns is a short, linear story based game. It has the RPG features, but not as fleshed out and less freedom compared to the other two games.

Dragonfall is a lot larger, less linear - a full fledged RPG.

Hong Kong is similar to Dragonfall, but just a different setting and story with some quality of life improvements and new features.

Cool thanks Jam. That's what I wanted to know. The linear story I really don't like in the first one. I don't fine a game has to be fully open world but line the sega and old Nintendo games you could follow the story or go and do your own thing in a small open city.

Dead Man's Switch didn't have a dedicated crew like Dragonfall or HK (except maybe Coyote?). That kills it for me.
