Game freezes, no error message

Hello, in the Jekyll & Hyde mansion in London when pulling a secret lever in a library to open a door it freezes with no error message. Please help. I tried a couple of things I saw about other people's issues in this game's discussions but nothing worked so far.

You have to finish certain things and get some stuffs/notes first, before pulling the lever.
