This trend has always existed, if you pick up old games in which you could change the protagonist, the NPCs ALWAYS called you out by Name or "They/Them". Out of technical reasons and pre-recorded voicelines, it made the most sense.
I look forward to people actually engage with the story-building of games and their implementation. Not this political (conservative) arguments which ignores the Dev-Team and their work.
Ide naturally agree with this, but considering the game, I find it interesting that it’s bein called “woke” and “virtue signaling” when the game itself is about stripping the sinner of all freedom and humanity. Removing genders in my opinion really falls in line with the premise of the game.
One could argue having a gender identity would be considered “woke” in this game as it would give a sinner an identity and that seems counter productive “for the greater good”
Half of them aren't even real people. They're astroturfing Russian sock puppets.
Have you actually thought to listen to Dev-Teams of A, AA or AAA Studios, at all...?
The change in text does work in favor of world-building in FW remaster. The sex/gender of the protagonist (sinner) is just a question of: what is the physically capacity of said resource. Just like blood types, the sex/gender is purely a functionally part in that society. Is said resource able to produce seeds or eggs? Nothing more, nothing less.
Also something of interest, it was always a part of the game-lore that the protagonist could change their gender in game. It was even an entitlement you could achieve by playing the game.
The end-result is: a more consistent representation of a game-lore by changing the in-game text/language.
I am glad you achieved the rest of mind you have hoped to reach.
Glad the exchange came to a satisfiyng end for the both of us.
Everyone knows why they do body b and body a regardless of where you sit on the issue. If your going to try to have a discussion, at least try to do so in good faith.
But there is something you should always remember:
The customer is always right, in matters of taste.
If the product is not to your liking, you are right in that for you and yourself. The publisher and the developer remain the right to create and represent games to their ideas, not yours or mine. The result at hand is more to my liking then yours, nothing more.
I am primarily a fan of results, secondly the process and lastly the motives. And as explained before, the result does reflect the worl-building aspect more coherent. There is no denieing in said aspect.
I just think it’s funny cause the argument in this particular game for gender identity would be seen as “woke” in the world of freedom wars. But non the less for the greater good!
If we were a minority concord would have lived longer than a housefly.
