Where do I get new weapons?
Do I just hope better weapons with higher rarities drop during missions?

either upgrade your current one or find some. Weapons stats were streamlined so a found one and a upgraded one will be the same outside of the special notch weapons that have 1 bonus stat. also dont think you can find anything past level 4 or 5 because then you have to upgrade into a specilization, impact, fire, ice, lightning, willo.

basically get the weapon you like and just upgrade it and if you happen to find a notched one of that weapon even better you can work on that one next! (still looking for a notched aftershadow)

Weapon rarity in this version is determined by the number of opened module slots. It doesn't effect any other aspect of the weapon. A rarity 1 has one opened module slot, a rarity 2 has two, etc. You will unlock the ability to open module slots very early in the game.

i would suggest just buying the starter weapon you like from Zakka, upgrade that and play as though this will be your main. The chances of finding a notched weapon to replace it are slim and will take a long time. The stat it upgrades is random and the weapon drop itself is random, so getting the weapon you want with the stat upgrade you want is a long term goal.

Other than the Exodus spear every base weapon is available to purchase from Zakka.

Exodus is also avilable as soon as zakka is open at least mine was. I found it weird we could just buy a god weapon like a common tool

I guess I never noticed. Certainly devalues it as far as the story goes.

Incorrect Exodus is avail for sale second you can access Zakka in this remaster. Where as in the orignal game it didn't unlock till a point in code 7 iirc, as it was a story locked weapon. I can see why they put it in there, there is no more weapon, medical, or munition (grenades etc) crafting in the remaster. They removed all that. The weapon crafting removal makes sense with how modules can now be crafted/looted and freely equipped, but I really hate the lack of the medical and munitions factories, as man buying +'ed healing items etc costs a fortune in EP, I used to craft those for free in the orignal game. I mostly just do without them now and use the basic stuff, as the basic stuff is like 10x cheaper.

So far, the best mission I found to get weapons is the Code 7 mission. Its only humans and since youre alone, its hard to miss a weapon drop when enemies die. As long as you leave Natalia with 1 life, she'll keep resurrecting her comrades. Kill her comrades each time she resurrects them. Once youve collected enough weapons or when theres almost no time left, kill Natalia to clear the mission.

Yeah, thats good if your looking for specific weapons that drop there. the problem is, that I notice in code 7 missions sinners virtually NEVER drop a weapon, ever. Or at least i've never had one drop in the remaster, always weakest version of modules.

Best way overall to get weapons is to break abductor parts namely their weapons that are attached in the remaster, as you generally know what your going to get based on what weapon type you break off. Assuming your rng is good, I feel RNG is locked in stone when you make your char as some games I get all the weapons, while other runs I can't get a single weapon to ever drop to save my life. I usually test it up to the code 2 trial, as sometimes with all those chances I somehow don't get a single weapon in all those missions. Which if that happens I usually restart, as I notice that rng sticks with you. I've had 2 diff runs, not the biggest sample size but I went to code 6 on them. The drops were consistant, if I got alot weapon drops in the code 1-2 missions, i'd get alot in future missions as well, but if I didn't get anything during code 1-2 I generally never seen drops at even higher code missions. Just something I noticed, its almost like your char gets set with a loot seed or something on creation, and it doesn't change and it effects drop rates. From my testing it feels way to consistant to be a coincidence.

Thanks , the fact that I can just buy whatever from the store is so strange now.

its also a double edged sword, as you cannot craft any of the consumables now either, can only buy or loot them, and the + versions are stupidly expensive. like a normal first aid kit is 75 EP, the + version costs 600. 8x the cost. In the orignal game i'd always craft some flare knife+ items because I used spear for when I really wanna sever something fast. Most I'd use it to sever shield generators off of abductors, as the Ai basically can't hurt any abductor with a shield up as they all stupidly sit there trying to shoot it.
