Cheers, good gaming!
However, the issue may or may not be out of your control, because I've come to the conclusion that after having the very same issue with Energy Hook, House Party, Sega MegaDrive & Genesis Classics, Surgeon Simulator, and Tabletop Simulator, which are all Unity-based games, that the problem is to blame on the Unity engine itself. These are the only games in my library that have this issue--all my other games close out just fine.
However, for future references, here's a Speccy.

Controller is keyboard, although I always have plugged in a crappy cheapo DirectInput 360-style controller which is incapable of XInput unless through x360ce, which I haven't used with this game. Unplugging doesn't affect the issue.
I have a Dell but I've uninstalled all pre-installed bloatstuffs.
Used Windows Update up until Attack of the Windows 10.
From what I can tell, nothing really looks out of the ordinary. Not sure what's up with this, but the bug itself isn't actually a Road Redemption problem.
Also, as a lifelong lover of Road Rash, I've been longing for a game like this ever since the Genesis. I love your game! My only real complaint is that the speed of the motorcycles doesn't quite seem as EXTREME as the classic games. Aside from that, the game is still truly just as fun to play.
By the looks of things you've got a pretty standard setup there, I can't see anything that might cause Unity to trip-up when closing a game. If anything that's good, it increases the chances that Unity have received other reports about this and are investigating.
We can certainly follow this up with Unity but unfortunately we can't submit a reproducible example because we just can't reproduce it. However, something you could do that may be of benefit to you and many others is to report this issue to the developers of any other Unity games you've experienced it on. This will get further developers working behind the scenes with Unity, potentially even reproducing the issue, which will escalate it and hopefully drive further action on the part of Unity.
Thanks again, we'll keep you updated on anything we find and we would certainly suggest getting similar reports out to other devs using Untity, if that's possible.
Cheers, good gaming!
