Other default things are kinda weird for me.... here's some suggestions.
I find it more natural for Cross to be confirm buttons and not Triangle. R2 can be acceleration but L1 should be the drift(?) button, L2 feels kinda awkward for that.
The attack buttons should be changed too, Square should be Left attack and Circle should be Right attack and Kicks should be changed to Triangle. Change Jump Jets to L2.
Other than that everything's fine.
I was SUCH a huge Road Rash fan and was itching to get my hands on this game, only to find out none of my currently owned controllers (I have three of these) actually work. Is this just something that's not yet properly implemented or do I have to fork out cash for an xbox controller? (not gonna happen, to be honest)
...what a let down, to be honest! Even with the proper emulation software that I've succesfully used to often and everything set up like it works for all the other games that ask me to do this, it's hopeless as it seems.. any additional tips, or should I just give up on my childhood dream of ever playing road rash in a kickass modern incarnation?
....regards, a very disappointed customer.
I've found that the xbox emulator software seems to register the left trigger on my Saitek P880 as always on - which explains why it's happening.
Question is though, what can I do about it? - the gamepad is fine outside of the emulator and testing on the Saitek control panel shows no problem and the button only registers when I press it.
Must be a problem with the emulator rather then the game. Can anyone help me with this at all please?
UPDATE - fixed it. Had to try a different USB port and then twiddle with the settings. also downloaded older version of emulator. Note sure what the ultimate fix was but I'm not going to touch it now!
Any more trouble and I'll just have to buy a XBox gamepad - too much like hard work otherwise.
For instance, When attempting to play local co-op/multiplayer split screen - Does one need two console type controllers or one can use a controller and one can use keyboard and mouse ? How does one setup for local split screen play ? What if one person prefers keyboard and mouse vs controller, or vice versa, how can this be remedied in a local multiplayer enviroment ?
When I attempted to use both, if I hit enter to use the keyboard as a player, then when I initiated the game controller it wasn't recognized. Then I couldn't get the controller to work by itself. I'm starting to suspect I need a keyboard / controller emulator to make local split screen work ?
I know everyone is clamouring for online multiplayer, but isn't that a bit premature if the control interface and binding features are not finished and polished for at least the original "road rash" split screen experience ? It sounds like since your using Unity, that your programming work will be cut out for you to design one since their native system is almost non-existent. "We recommend that you use an xinput emulation program in order to utilize your logitech gamepad with Road Redemption. The default Unity engine gamepad support is rubbish."
Would someone please clarify and post a controller thread and list the current state on the control interface and it's work arounds since it's apparently unfinished or at least, undocumented ?
Thanks !
In order for the game to register me pressing the 'start' button I have to push both the lower shoulder buttons, and in game play the game constantly assumes I'm giving it both the gas and the brakes.
I've gone back and checked all my inputs, but I really have no idea what the game is using for my throttle and handbrake right now, because it doesn't allow me to set shoulder buttons for them.
The weird part about this, is that back when I first found out a Mac version had come out, the controller worked perfectly fine without issue.
So please pretty please.. some help with this controller issue? Anything at all besides user-input of workarounds that do not actually work for everyone? A hint about having it on the to-do list? A confirmation things will be fixed? anything at all?
I'm itching to play WITHOUT having to buy a new controller just for this game, not when I have a handful already that work for every other game I have and that I need to use (the) emulation software for, let alone everything else..
A shame I couldn't use the controller I had, but there you go.
