Yes, playing on a single shared CPU. The game doesn't support splitscreen LAN play (multiple PCs on the same network) or online.

Yes indeed, 2, 3 or 4 player split-screen is supported for local co-op!

Hope that helps, good gaming!

Splitscreen LAN? That's a first

Maybe not the first. I believe some but not all iterations of SERIOUS SAM have had split-screen LAN co-op: classic 1st and 2nd, and SS3. SS HD 1st and 2nd only support split-screen local, like ROAD REDEMPTION.

Wow, now you mention it I actually remember playing the original SS in split-screen LAN co-op, years ago before Steam even existed. Looking back it was.... kinda weird to be honest, ha ha! Split-screen LAN, what was that about?!!

You probably remember LAN parties. I remember lugging PCs to them to play Netware Rogue and later DOOM, pre-wifi (BYO Ethernet cable). From a dev perspective, splitscreen LAN seems like an easier lift than online co-op (splitscreen or not), because latency would be vastly reduced. And it would allow people with fat pipes to at least try virtual LAN systems for online play. Plus, it just looks cool. :-)

I thought the way to play LAN would be to also bring multiple monitors, not a single one shared between a couple of PCs lol

Hi @OTSTSEETFF - not sure who you're addressing. For my part, the only way I'd play ROAD REDEMPTION multiplayer is local co-op (same CPU). It's an excellent single-player game, but the online multiplayer doesn't reach the same standard. It's not co-op, it's team PvP only. It's also not the same maps as the single-player campaign.

Yes, it is. It is shorter pieces though.

The fact this is split screen made me buy it just now. I use to have some mad fun playing road rash with friends on Sega as a kid lol. Now I have the Steam link so I can have one person on the PC and the other on a controller on my couch as a bonus :).

Cool! It's a really great game if you're into single player or have the right setup for local co-op.

Yea having a blast. I have not played an arcade style game in a long while so it's refreshing. It's hard though! My son and I always die about halfway through a campaign.
