Road Ninja (88 Samurai Swords kills) achievement help

I just can't find the katana you need for this achievement. Can anyone help me as to how to find it, I don't even know how it looks in-game. I only keep getting the longsword type sword with the cross-guard.

It's the level 3 sword. You purchase the upgrade in the shop between missions. IIRC there are skill tree upgrades that increase the number of items available in the store. Those increase the chances of it turning up.

As Full Thortle said, you can get it by buying the Sword upgrade from the shop between missions but you may have to buy the upgrade a couple of times as there are a few tiers available for each weapon type. However, you can reduce how many times you need to upgrade in-game by buying the permanent skill-tree upgrade that gives you an improved starter sword.

If you're having trouble getting it now, you'll find it gets progressively easier as you gather more permanent upgrades from the skill tree - these will help you to earn more money during a run so it's easier to buy in-game upgrades and after a while you'll be able to upgrade your sword permanently.

Oh. I thought it was like a secondary weapon kind of like the long, light and heavy melee wepaons and put off upgrading the sword.
This cleared that up. Thanks!!
