alternate nitro button on controller

my nitro on my button is i dont know sensitve or something it seems to kick automatically at times usually with very unsavoury results, I want to be able to click in the left stick to be able to use it or use right bumber since I can still fire witht the attack butons

You'll probably be told to use the Steam Configurator, but I tried doing that so I could bind "look back" and it didn't work... in fact I cant' get "look back" to work at all in the game.
So, I don't know what to say about that "official" solution. I wish they'd try working on the controls more instead of relying on Steam to do it.

it dosent work for me either. a full game should have controller configuration it just dosent make sense, at least to me since it is an age old feature.

We allow for keyboard rebinding, but gamepad rebinding was a bit too complicated, especially when you consider we allow for 4 player splitscreen.

In the end it would have required weeks of implementation and extra testing to make this work with 4 player support.

you can't even just swap out the buttons easily? shooting for alternate throttle with out nitro attached?

And by using the xbox controller emulator, there is no way to remap the buttons ?

To be frank, you can awap out the buttons extremely easily with the Steam controller configurator. The tools you need are available to you right there in Steam, might as well just use them. And it does work absolutely perfectly if you know how to use it - it can be a bit over-complicated in some respects but there are hundreds of guides on the internet that are very easy to find.

ok thanks I will look further into it it is just that I really fear it wont work cuz on first try it wasn't detected at all despite just using it to play this game.

this isn't true with the xbox controller. you can only remap keys for steam controller and ps4, unless i'm mistaken

360 is supported. XboxOne controllers might be supported, not sure.

You are indeed mistaken, it includes full support for XBox controllers.

Yes, that's right, that will enable the XBox controller to be configured on a per-game basis. You then need to find Road Redemption in your library and select "Configure Controller" to configure it specifically for Road Redemption.
