How to achieve MAX Fairy Rank?

One of the achievements for the game is achieving MAX Fairy Rank for the first time. I've put 26 hours into the game on PS5. 100%d the game without ever getting max rank in any battle. Now at level 100, my party just melts everything and I can't get max rank because things die too quickly. Is there some trick i'm missing or do I have to make a new save file just to try to get this achievement?

Fairy Rank is gained by using SP; as such, skills that do not deal damage (e.g. Buffs/Debuffs/Heals) will contribute towards FR without killing the enemy. Wendy and Juvia can be useful in that regard.

There are also items that increase how much Fairy Rank you gain from a character for a short period, and Gildarts' Unison Raid (for breaking the final protection bar on an enemy with more than one protection bar) gives the same buff.

However: I have only ever managed to max it out twice, both times during multi-stage Boss Battles (Zeref and Acnologia), because the Fairy Rank carries over between Stages.

Not sure if it's entirely accurate or not, but each bar seems to take twice as long as the bar before it. Even trying my best to maximise FR gain and minimise damage dealt, I can only fill up to the penultimate bar against Area Bosses.

Hopefully the "Arena DLC" they have mentioned will allow re-fighting some of the multi-stage bosses, because there are multiple Extreme Magics that require Max Fairy Rank to use for that Achievement too...

Yup! I Platinum Trophied the first game and want to do the same for the second, but the Extreme Magics (and Max Fairy Rank by extension) are making it really frustrating to do so. It's really hard to play the game as seemingly intended (Maxing out Fairy Rank regularly) because the game gives you SO MUCH XP that until late in the game you just wipe out everything without trying. Even then, that problem is rectified soon after anyway and suddenly you find yourself beating the story at like Level 90 with very little grinding. By the time I got to the final bonus chapter, my party was Level 100.

Ah well, I guess after now 27 hours of play time in one weekend, this is a good excuse to take a break lol

For anyone still struggling with this achievement i just managed to do it today but it was abit of a grind you can do it with these three characters

Grey
- Ice Make: Shield
- Ice Make: Rampart
- Ice Make: Ice Geyser++

Wendy
- Arms+
- Armour+
- Revive+

Juvia
- Water Rain++
- Water Heal++
- Water Make: Blood

Play as Grey and keep casting Ice Make: Shield ALOT haha, Theres a group of Golems near the Chrysanthus Tower in the Clover Region at the bottom right of the map. It took me roughly 30mins to do.

Just used this method and ot worked amazing!

I set all 3 characters with the best HP and Defense lacriama you have avaliable. Also, I just Rampart more than Shield. It seems to work faster and it doesn't pause the Fairy Rank cool down because you're not selecting a character to shield.

MY BROTHER IN CHRIST THANK YOU SO MUCH i was on the verge of just giving up on the platinum because i did not want to grind for bond scrolls for hours or start a new game and no videos on youtube or posts anywhere else helped but i was finally able to do it thanks to you
