Most effective way of getting silver?

What is the most effective way of getting silver? Looks like battles give the most. Buildings take forever to give some and they dont give much.

lots of upgraded blacksmiths - trading food (10 markets) - battles

I have probably 40 blacksmiths. Some are level 2 but it'll take weeks to recoop the silver spent on upgrading blacksmiths.

Battles give silver always.

And trading as jwinter said. I have a vast excess of food so it is a good trade resource. (More active markets increase the trade efficiency.

pvp at rank 1, if you manage to get that high, and if you find opponents pays 500 silver per win

believe it or not no... i was making 20-30k per day for a while but now everyone is too afraid to match, and now even the "top players" on my server surrender so i might see 1-2 matches per day. Heck i'm only in game now to collect resources, start crafting, and run a few normal missions.

Oh and to top it all of i can't even run the stupid friendly battles because i either get stuck on the opponent screen, or get dropped to the login screen 75%+ of the time
