Oculus Rift.White screen on startup. Can hear logo sound but can't see anything.
When I start up the game, all I get is white and the sound the logos make but no change in visuals. It stays white until I take the headset off and on again at which point a loading icon appears on both rift and on screen. Once it's done loading the Rift shows black and I can hear the menu music and when I take it off I can see the menu background plus music but no buttons. I got it to load into the game once and from preliminary testing seemed to work with normal PC controlls but when I put on my Rift I saw maybe 10 frames of the game and then blackness. This exact thing has happened on two unrelated computers. I'm at a complete loss.

The same problem here! I had never an issue with other VR games purchased through Steam or Oculus Store before.

For me if i start the game with the rift on it will turn and stay white.if i keep it on like that for 30secs or so it will completely crash steam.if i take the headset off it will start to load on the desktop screen no problem.

But as soon as i put it on it will either show white or nothing at all on the headset while showing the same on the desktop.

Take it off and the game will again play fine on the desktop.

I tried launching it from the ouclus home insteed but its the exact same problem..

I only picked this game up to play in vr meaning i wasted my money.

I am on windows 7 completely up to date.

I have a i5 6600k cpu and gtx 1080ti video card with up to date video drivers.so its not my hardware at all.its either a setting in steam vr or this poorly programed game that steam says works with the rift and touch controllers, but i guess that only for some people!!!

I figured it out.when the last white loading screen pops up with the icon that sorta looks like the atari logo, stick the headset on give it a sec then hit X on the xbox controller and it should flip into vr mode.

But omg is it glitchy...and the game play is almost an instant sickness and not even worrh the trouble....

Hey I had similar crash before, searched the web and reached 301 developer site, some staff said disabling the Sonic Suite 2 will previent crashing the Unreal engine so I did, it worked! I am using Oculus Rift. Hope it helps.

Vive, and same problem. I get to a white screen with a picture of the vive controller, and a message about pressing the menu button, but no button will do anything, and the game is frozen. I have to Alt Ctrl Delete to open Task Manager and then I see Unreal Engine is running, and I have to end the process. All my other VR games are working on the Vive.
