Crash, crash, crash
Following the update, my client keeps crashing about a second after loading some maps (other seem to be able to play them ok).

I am running it on Windows 11 64 bit - not real customisation or scripts in place.

I have rebooted the PC and also removed and re-installed DODS, still getting jthe same thing :-(
Anyone else seeing this?

I’m having this issue too. Windows 11 as well. I’m going to try reinstalling windows later tonight. I’ll report back.
So far so good after reinstalling windows. I know it may be a drastic solution, but if all else fails, it might fix the problem for you too.
Ugh - too drastic for me, I'm afraid. Shouldn't have to reinstall the OS to get the game to work.
Glad you got it sorted.
Also happening to me. What kind of works for me (it's not foolproof, but more stable) is switching my screen resolution before joining a server. That is--boot up game, go into options-->video, change resolution, apply, change it back, apply, okay, join server. Still crashes after some map changes, but at least lets me in sometimes.

Really pissed that Valve had to go and break a 20 year old game.
Update: crashes are back. Reinstalling Windows did nothing. *sigh*
I was having the same issues with the game going complete CTD without any warning or message when I joined server or on map change.

I went into Video Options > Advanced > and set Filtering to Trilinear and Anti-Aliasing to None.

Since I did that I've had no issues thus far.

Please post here if you try that and it don't work for you.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I'm crossing my fingers for you (that this fix continues to work for you), but so far any fixes I've found have only been temporary. Crashing to desktop always returns.
I guess I'm keeping my fingers crossed now too. :D
What cpu and graphics card are you guys running? I have an AMD 9800X3D processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4090 gpu.
I just tested PikaOS linux and unfortunately the crashing to desktop issue exists in linux as well.
Yeah sorry lads. Its the update that's borked it. Came across the issue on a few servers today. Couple of people stuck in dashboard as well. Some maps work ok, but its a roulette right now. Wouldn't be surprised if a quick patch drops in the next few days.
It happens just a second or so after certain maps load - doesn't appear to be any pattern that I can see.
I tried deleting all of my downloaded map files, so force downloads, but that made no difference.
All graphics settings are on the recommended * settings.
Still crashing
same here, W10 Radeon RX570 Card.
first thought it was the skin (insane HUD v11) but neither a reinstall of dod:s nor trying diffent settings worked

that are the proposed settings here, so no luck for me
The crashing has persisted for me, so don't even bother with my earlier post. It don't work.

I hope you're right, but I'm not terribly optimistic.
