mic wont work in-game

i've got all my settings correct and have tested my mic both in game and thru windows control panel, still i havent been able to get my mic to work properly to communicate in-game. has anyone had a problem like this? any suggestions? i've plugged into my mic hole (for lack of better term) but that doesnt help so i use my headset hole which brings all audio to my ears and none out of my laptop's speakers. when i pllug into mic hole it comes thru headset AND out the speakers, and the mic doesnt work when i test it. help please, thx.

go to device manager audio input/output and make sure any other mics are disabled.

Check if your game have the microphone permissions (also steam).

Yeah, not working for me either (works in windows settings) - no response to 'B' (or whatever key associated), as usually get a icon come up on screen to show that at least the button is working.

No flashlight either for some reason...
