2 people same house play dod?

I have tried playing with a friend in the same house and on 2 different computers but everytime I try and connect to the same server I keep getting "Retrying connection to server" then fails. Anyone know if it is still possible to play together in the same house?

Every server I tried was the same thing. 10 different servers and no luck at all. Was able to play it together a few years back but not anymore

Run your own server on the faster computer, connect to it from the other computer as a client. All u'll need to know is the local IP address of the server machine.

My son and I sometimes play from the same house on this server without a problem.

Give it a try. If you can't connect to it then it isn't because of the server : ) You have another issue.

Are you using different steam accounts? Would be a total noob move if you weren't, but you never know....

do a speedtest at speedtest.net and c what download speed u r getting, i only get 11mbps but my son, my soninlaw and myself all play in the same house and we never have a problem,,, heres our server ip 85,190,9,231,27015 ( FFC ) , please feel free to join us 4 somew fun and c if u can both get on,,,as honey badger said,,,r u useing different steam acounts ? if not then thats ya problem,,,

This happens to me when I play Counter Strike 1.6 with my rother... the fix for us was quite simple... Restart modem an das soon as it's back on, both connect to the same server at the same time... Just repeat whenever it happens... same as when I join a server he's in, always crashes us...

My boyfriend and I both play from the same house, different computers, steam accounts and lan ip. DoD works fine for us using several servers and we both have low pin. I hope you would be able to fix it and play with your friend :D
