dod or dod source

iam planning to buy Day of Defeat but iam not sure wich one i should buy?
can someone help me? i have same post on the day of defeat source community

dod original one, the purest form and how it was intended to be played by people, capping flags and securing objectives BY sneaking around, setting up ambushes and supporting teamplay, dod source is a watered down and dumbed down version of the classic dod, it's pretty much a regular cap the flag shooter in a WW2 setting

DOD classic. I was debating myself on Day of Defeat vs Source, went with the classic version. I don't regret it one bit.

based on your gameplay, it seems you would like Day of Defeat: Source. It's more action arcade based, and this is more tactical, and difficult in a sense.

The original feels like you have better control of the characters. Source feels so slow and non immersive. However the DoD classic community is virtually dead which is to be expected from such an old game.

The gameplay depends on what you like.

If you like full customization, multiple classes, weapon combinations, Twisty, maze-like maps and large Frontlines that decide the outcome of battles through grand stalemates, than DOD 1.3 is your game.

If you like fast-paced playing, highly functional grenades, Dynamic maps, and an emphasis placed on Stubborn defense and Linear offenses, than DOD:S is your game.

Original for sure. Esp if you learn to play your role and have team mates that do as well. It's a beautiful thing when that happens.
