New Strafing Issue? - Help! [SOLVED]
All of a sudden, the flat, low momentum movement that I've grown so used to in this game has been replaced by an old-school shooter style leaning/drifting strafe. This is only present when I play on servers I make myself (playing with Sturmbot) and isn't a problem playing online. I've tried verifying game files, reinstalling and I've been through the settings and I have no idea what the problem is. I just booted it up and it's like this now, I've not changed anything since I last played. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?? Help would be very much appreciated.

[EDIT] So I reinstalled Half-Life and changed it to the [steam_legacy] version in the Properties-->Betas menu in the Steam library, and now DoD is running in the older, pre-recent-update 3.1 version and the strafing issue is GONE. I'm assuming it has something to do with the new update then? If anyone has any more info I'd like to know.

sv_rollangle is your issue there, it came in Nov 2023 with the HL25 update.

From my Website this page...

sv_rollangle: Default = "2". When moving side to side your model will tilt.
To stop this use "0" it goes up to around 10 or so… and can make you sick.

Also new was "sv_rollspeed" Default "200"
"The angle increase or decrease as you strafe."

So if that was all that was annoying you, you can set your HL1 and dod to "None" in the "Properties" - "Betas" section and enjoy the widescreen fix but there are other annoyances like the scope sprite issue... https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/3583

Many thanks for the help with the Rollangle command. I'd noticed the issue with the scope sprites before, didn't bother me too much as I don't often play as any class that uses scopes. On the rare occasion I do I can manage, but I can't believe it hasn't been fixed yet.
