There should be a way to find out who people are, either a name when you die, or a name on corpses, so you can at least report someone if you think they are cheating.
No, there shouldn't be. That can lead to harassment between players. And it would also take from the realism as well as the concept of the game. This is a survival game. Not a kill-people game.
If you think you are killed in a suspicious way, report it to the developers. Give a timeframe for when you are killed and the server you played on, and they should be able to detect whether your killer used any sort of software with the game.
And how will knowing someones name on a server lead to harrasment between players?
This is a "survival" game, but because of that situation, I caught someone cheating, and now I can't even report him, because theres no way to tell who he was.
You've clearly got your opinion.
If you think you are killed in a suspicious way, report it to the developers. Give a timeframe for when you are killed and the server you played on, and they should be able to detect whether your killer used any sort of software with the game. Also, server admins can view damage logs and know who killed who.
you could alt tab and check the steam players tab
