Does this game remind anyone of Marvel Heroes Online?
It was my first though seeing the video, and now I can't unsee it.

I wish, I miss that game. This is more like Hades I think, which is a good game, just not like marvel heroes. I had all the characters unlocked on that game and was only through about half or 2/3rds of them when they shut it down. I loved squirrel girl so much *sigh* I really wish they would bring it back. This is a fun game, might even like it more than hades!!

Hello fellow MH fans. Still one of my most played games on Steam, almost 3k hours. I miss it very much too.

Although Splintered Fate is a rogue-lite and more similar to Hades, while MH was a Diablo-style loot based ARPG, there are definitely similarities to MH at the same time. The isometric camera, fast paced combat, lots of dodging, the enemy attack indicators (lines and AoEs), etc. I can see why MH popped in your mind.

Honestly as much as I loved MH to death, and had so much more I wanted to play it (Back then I would alternate between Path of Exile and MH, now I wish I had just played MH and saved PoE for later sigh), what would be so freaking awesome is to convert MH into a hades/spliter type game that is action rpg like instead of top down d2 like. As much as I like that style, imagine each of the different super heros of MH actually being playable like a turtle in this game!! That would have so freaking rocked.

MH was already massively addictive, but that would have taken it up a few notches.

Anyway, MH was before Disney took over wasn't it? Could disney now bring it back or make a new version? Should we email them about it or make some kinda petition?

So many other games like City of Heroes were brought back, I wish MH would be as well. I never did go back and play the bootleg version of city of heroes but I heard it was basically the same as the original. I hate that MH just went poof, there should be some way to get that game back for us all.

That does sound like a great idea for a game. It's a shame how few Marvel games are made, but I'm guessing the licence fees turn a lot of devs away.

As far as MH being before Disney, I don't believe so, but I know that in its forming days when David Brevik first signed with Marvel, it was just before Marvel and Fox' feuds over the X-Men started. Every Marvel game released after MH got dragged into that drama, even games that had a strong X-Men presence in the past like MvC. MvC Infinite got a lot of crap for that.

We got very lucky with MH and as a huge fan, the X-Men presence in that game was another reason I loved it.

As for bringing it back, I believe there have been many attempts to create petitions, but I really doubt it will ever happen. If you recall, the game died for 2 reasons.

First, it always struggled to make ends meet, due to the licence fees and the generosity in their F2P model. Second, after Brevik left, the new CEO who took over turned out to be a past sex offender, which is what really caused the game to die. When Disney found out about that, they pulled the plug.

Also, when Disney pulled the plug, I believe Gazillion totally closed its doors, and I have no idea who actually owns the game and its MMO-lite server code. In order to bring it back, either Gazillion would need to come back, or ownership of the game would need to be picked up by someone else, and Marvel/Disney would have to give the approval. Pretty sure it'll never happen.

As for a bootleg MH, there was one in the works, but there wasn't a lot of hope. The last time I checked, It had a long way to go and they weren't feeling very confident. I believe they had the game world and characters working, but none of the enemies, which is a massive task.

Some MMOs have their server code leaked, which makes the creation of bootleg servers much more feasible. Without leaked code, the entire network architecture plus the actual server game data needs to be recreated. I believe MH never had a leak.
