Controller Issues
I was playing the game earlier today with my 8BitDo Ultimate Pro Controller, and it was working fine with zero issues. I stopped mid-run to go eat dinner with my folks, came back a few hours later, and now the controller is having all sorts of issues. My character is just constantly running forward, I can't use the analog stick to activate menus, and it's randomly activating buttons for the tools and special attacks.

I tried restarting the game, Steam and my computer, unpaired and re-paired my controller, and even reinstalled the firmware. No change. I've also tested it in a few other games just to make sure my controller wasn't abruptly dying on me, but it's working fine. It's just this game where it's suddenly having issues. Any ideas?

EDIT: Updating this since people have started responding. The most recent patch seems to have resolved the issue for me. I'm going to leave this thread open since others are commenting and might offer solutions to those who still need them.

Please let us know if you continue to face any issues and thank-you all for your patience as we sort through these problems!

One thing worth noting, there are some devices that allow different connections depending on whether you are connecting to an andriod/iOS device vs connecting to PC. (8BitDo Ultimate as an example, required the dongle or plugged in via cable for PC, but allows bluetooth for Android) Please ensure you are connecting the device via the expected methods.

From the very start my controller, bigbig won, was just doing exactly this. I've had no option to use the keyboard and thats not the worst thing ever, It would probably be easier to aim dashes and Leo's special though. Hoping to hear more about this.

Do you happen to have anything else plugged in to your PC that could be picking up the input?
I have the same issues with my 8bitdo ultimate 2c controller

It's definitely the update. Tried on my desktop and LegionGo. Worked perfectly on both devices prior. Now I can't play on either because of this issue.

Having this issue using a PS5 DualSense controller my first time booting the game, loaded into the tutorial had Leo running towards the upper right. No other controllers are connected, and I even tried disconnecting my keyboard and mouse and it still persisted.

I just bought the game and i'm having this issue as well. What the hell they still haven't fixed it?!
I have the same issue, my character running constantly (top-right). The game is not playable anymore. Issue started after the last patch. It seems to be consistent across multiple input modes:

8bitdo Pro 2 (tried BT and cable connection + x input)
- character running all the time
- I can counteract the movement with the left stick, but as soon as I let go the turtle is running again
- all other buttons behave as expected
- in the options menu i can scroll down with the right stick but it auto scrolls back up

Playstation 4 Controller
- character running all the time
- I can't counteract the movement
- all other buttons behave as expected
- in the options menu i can scroll down with the right stick but it auto scrolls back up

Keyboard / mouse
- character running all the time
- I can't counteract the movement
- all other buttons behave as expected
- I can't scroll in the options menu

The gamepads were tested individually (with keyboard/mouse disconnected / connected), no change. When playing with keyboard / mouse and disconnecting them (= no input devices connected) I still got the issue.
Repairing the game didn't do anything. Full restart neither

I'm having the same issue:

8BitDo Ultimate 2C (wireless 2ghz but also wired, all Xinput):
- character runs up all the time (left stick counters but only when pressed)
- right stick is a mess - triggers all types of button presses, unusable
- select/start buttons pull up respective menus for half a second, but they don't stay up
- this controller works with other games, only TMNT has problems

Mobapad Chitu:
- works perfectly (was using this but got 8bitdo recently as a 2nd controller)

I had the same issue with my Legion Go then enabled the recommended Steam input profile and the problem went away. I previously had this issue with my Dualsense controller when the game released.

Just installed this first time, at tutorial level my character was running and randomly attacking. Menus were crazy with controller

Edit. Entering Steam Big picture mode fixed issue for me. hopefully there is fix coming

Same issue here, whether my controller is plugged in or not. I can overcome the movement w/ my controller, but my keyboard just turns my character while still running in the same direction.
