How the hell do I change characters?!

I want to see all the characters I can play as but I'm LOCKED as Brecht in online.....I don't see ANY OPTION to change at all, just READY UP.

Just saw when I clicked to single player that they are locked with the reqs shown THERE, why isn't it handled the same in multiplayer? Let me cycle through them to see why I can't choose them.

You need to unlock them all.

1st boss -> Presto.
2nd boss -> camille
3rd boss -> stabbygale
beat the game -> El Cazador

Can they be unlocked via mp? Probably the most important part for my friend and I.

Multiplayer games should also unlock characters. Let me know if it isn't working.

I unlocked characters via mp but i can't select them in lobby. So yeah it isn't working.

1. In your multiplayer session, were you host or client? Or was it couch co-op?
2. Which character(s) did you unlock / which boss(es) did you defeat?
3. Did you get the unlock notification pop-up after defeating the boss(es)?
4. Did you get the unlock newspaper article(s) after the game session?
5. Are the new characters also not available in single player mode?

1. MP session. I tried both.
2. Presto after 1st boss.
3. Got notification and achivment.
4. Also got this.
5. They are available in single player mode.

I believe you may be using a mouse and keyboard, I have the same issue. If you use a controller you can select characters in multiplayer. I hope they fix this soon as I prefer mouse and keyboard but would like to play the game with friends.

What control method are you using REMi? I noticed I could NOT select characters with my Dpad and HAD to use the joystick of my ps4 controller.

Thanks for the detailed answer. When playing with a controller, you have to use the triggers or stick to select your character in multiplayer.I hope this resolved the issue for you.

There is no way to change characters with the keyboard in multiplayer, I can confirm.

1. both couldnt access it (using mouse and keyboard - controller was able to select alternate characters)
2. the first boss one
3. yes
4. yes
5. able to select in single player fine


i think the problem is with the controls for selecting a character in the online lobby

Yes, when you're playing with mouse/keyboard, the only way to select the character is clicking the arrows next to the portrait. I'll try to put this on the list of things to fix for the next patch.
