Puck
How do you shoot in this game
I cannot for the life of me do anything resembling an actual hockey shot

swing your mouse left to right to swing, up and down to raise and lower.
it helps to stay in the slide position til you get used to it

Lol ok tried more and more

first person hockey is a neat concept but these controls are just unintuitive and janky. I'll pass.

it's not that complicated, it took about an hour to start getting consistent long distance shots.
Try adjusting your vertical sensitivity to be lower than your horizontal, that helped me. Adjusting global sensitivity may also help w precision

This^ It's truly one of the worst attempt at representing hockey I have ever played.
a tip that i use is using the scroll wheel to create more power for low shots.

good thing its not trying to be a sim but instead a fun arcade version. the goalie doesn't even have a glove so don't take it so seriously
first you need to lower your sensitivity, the default is way too high. secondly youll start to learn a lot more that most of the movement is done with your feet, and not with your stick. your stick is going to stay still and minimally move for most of the time, and remember youre on ice. ice is slippery, and the puck moves a long distance with just very little momentum and input from your stick. most new players are flinging and whacking at the puck as hard as they can and then crying about how the control is janky. you need to remember gordon bombay in the mighty ducks movie "soft hands"
