FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Yes it has cross platform play, but does it have cross region play?
I want to import the physical Japanese switch version BUT if I can't play with my American friends on steam when I play the Japanese version, then I might have to skip getting the physical Japanese version.

Do you think I'll be able to play a Japanese switch version with American steam version??

I have this same question

I've asked in the unofficial fantasy life discord and the owner named king goose just said it should be fine. He uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel saying the same. He didn't cite any sources though *shrugs*

Been looking everywhere I could for this specific info. Other youtube channels, on twitterX, here of course. No one really talks about it.

The only other reference I could find is how Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered prevented cross region play. We could only play with people we are in the same region in. That may sound bad BUT it could mean that since I'm in America, I can still import the Japanese physical version and still play with my American friends. I can have my cake and eat it too.

I also looked up what players who bought the Japanese version of monster hunter rise on switch went through and they were also able to play with their friends because they were all in America. So I think it only matters where you're playing from, not what region your game is from.

I ended up pre-ordering the Japanese physical switch version from play asia. I've pre-ordered from them before and k never had any problems. I had to buy a 2nd game to go over $100 to get free standard shipping but I had another game I wanted to buy. I also used code JORDAN2025 (from the YouTube channel "Physical Paradise") to get 5% off my order. I'd advise you to do the same if you really want to get the Japanese physical version and can afford to.

I decided to just preorder the physical version and hope for the best. There's a small chance I'm wrong and won't be able to play with american players but I've decided getting the game physically is more important to me. Chances are I'll be good but there's always that tiny risk.

Hope you have fun with the game

any more in this day and age if it has online multiplayer 99.9% it has cross region by default. as most of the region specific stuff is UI only the rest of game is exactly the same

That's good. I'm looking forward to getting my physical copy
The original fantasy Life on 3DS did not have cross region play. That is why I am concerned this one might not also.

People have been telling me that regardless of the physical version being from Japan, we'll still be able to play with others in our native country.

I decided to preorder the Japanese physical version from play asia. I'll recieve it a few weeks after release cause I went for basic shipping. If you're willing to wait till then I'll post here saying if I'm able to play with people in the US. Up to you.
