Local coop?

Will this game have local cooperative to play with my wife and kids? Thanks.

The game has two-player local co-op according to the new info video. The second player takes control of the bird(?) companion though

It seems to be similar to Super Mario Galaxy's "co-star" mode - the second player takes control of the little fairy/bird/bell/??? companion and likely has stats synced to that of Player 1.

For other players to control their own human characters and level up their own Lives, they'll need a copy of the game themselves.

depends what you mean by local if you mean shar screen i think there was an option for a person take control of an ai companion. but if mean like LAN play i dont see why there wouldnt be way to either threw the setting to select lan over internet or by direct session invites
