How do you get islander clothing sets?

A recipe datamine implies you can get clothing sets from all your islanders. I have also seen a screenshot of one player wearing Snow's set.

Wondering if anyone knows how to get it. I've tried farming recipes from my islanders and they all have full hearts but no one has given any pieces. I'm thinking maybe they need to be fully powered up? I'm not sure.

yes. you can talk to your crafter buddies you have housed at the home island. they will sometime be near their crafting station inside their house where you can talk to them and get a chance for a recipe. atm I got the pirate princess set from all the sewing buddies. they gave a recipe for the set. as far as I know its RNG to catch them doing this action. good luck

Can you get multiple recipes a day in real life? It seems like I have to time travel to get them to give me one recipe again.

Just curious because you can reset your islanders position/spawn by just opening the island build menu with the robot and closing it, wondering if that's enough to make them go in their house to their bench.

yes. I have gotten at most 2 one each from the buddies. I wish I used time travel at the time for some reason I just drew a blank on it lol. as for as spawning homes by building, now thats a good idea to try and test. I have not tried this myself. let me know how it goes if you try it.

So far after testing, my way to trigger them at the bench is.

1. Time travel one day (doesn't matter if it's forward or backwards, I just go back and forth between today and yesterday so I don't screw up my traveling merchants.
2. Run around and check if any villagers want to run at you and talk to you, if you're lacking strangeling things or emotes.
3. Pick up your flowers with the build menu, no one seems to be at a bench until you pick them up.
4. Check all houses, at least one of them will be on the bench.
5. Open the build menu again if no one is in a house.

Repeat after you get one recipe.

Although, I have gotten recipes from doing requests for them, I don't bother because the chance of them giving ones seems very low.
