How do I get a Silver Hoe for a quest?

I got farmer up to Adept and received the recipe but it isn't showing up when I try to craft it. Do I have to get Blacksmith to Adept as well to unlock working with silver? I know that's probably it but I figured I would ask fellow gamers for confirmation.

Also, any advice to increase Blacksmithing skills would be greatly appreciated. I wish I could find a Blacksmith guy to live on my base camp. Right now I have two miners.

yeah rank up your smithing

yea because the life tool is created by blacksmithing, same as if you got a furniture level 4 you need your carpenter at least an expert

yep silver tools require adept blacksmith. gotta level that up. its always a good idea to try and keep blacksmithing and carpentry leveled as you go because every single life relies on them to some extent
