Steam Deck and cloud saves?

I only plan to play this on steam, not cross saving to any other platform. I'd like to know if anyone has had any issues going between PC and Steam deck through the same steam account cloud save, or does it necessitate the Epic cross-save set up to do this?

Also would there be any issue or conflict when cross playing online if I don't set up the epic cross save? (my gf is playing on switch)

I thought the cross save feature would be needed for the steam deck but in my experience it wasn't! Cloud save works well with PC and Steam Deck!

Cross save is for ps, xbone, and switch. Pc uses steam save
