Question About Buddies and Housing

Can you really only have six houses for your Island?
When I look at the list to assign people, it looks like six will be the cap.
Maybe that changes later, but if the cap is truly six can anyone let me know?

You can increase the max by doing the bulletin missions.

Unfortunenlly 6 is the cap.

Think of the villagers as "items", you can swap the house isanders for free or if you want to rank up their affection.

6 is lame, on top of that whole part being so lacking the map being so small, the layer system being just weak.. worst part of the game & just feels like a we ran out of stuff to add to the game so let's throw in a half baked animal crossing town thing..

This nearly ruined the game when I got to this part as I was so excited for it..

So all 50 some Stranglings u get just wander around aimlessly while 6 get special housing that really does nothing.. same with your own house 2 story's meh.. maybe dlc will save this part of the game cause it's so disappointing for me,

Can confirm. 6 At maxed out base.

You can switch them around easily, and all buddies are "living" in the city interacting with decorations so you can give them gifts. They will also give you gifts and teach emotes even if not villagers. But only the ones with houses will give actual request so if you are ranking up affinity you need to switch them around.

Its more like picking 6 favourites.

This was very disappointing to me as well, the map is big enough to add way more then just 7 houses (including your own) and a gallery.
Because of this lack i dont really feel like going realy into it and build something nice.
I do hope this will change in the future, i know that they probably did this with swich in mind.
But a simple way to fix this would be to make it an option that you can modify in the options menu or something like that.

Its such a waste to limit it to just 6 its just way to little.

I would like to see an increase in the max and maybe a new building like an inn or 2 person housing ( floor and second floor for second person).

This would make a realy big difference into feeling to make it a pretty and fun town to build on.

I like having a complete game when I buy it, but I'm truly hoping they are working on revamping the island. Spread the whole thing out a bit and give us more room and at least 12 houses. I feel crowded right now with only 30 or so unlocked. I also wish we could create our own guild houses. That would solve a lot of the overcrowding issue with islanders.

I want the game to succeed long term, but if there is nothing more to our home island than this, I can't see anyone bothering with it long term. The decorators will go to the next Animal Crossing and never look back.

I hope to god they increase the island housing cap from 6 to at least 12... 6 simply isn't enough

The only thing the houses do is allow those buddies living in them to generate personal quests.

I have a feeling they're going to increase the housing cap in updates, or add additional islands to build in DLC.

If not, then someone will figure out how to mod it.

i think switch is what's holding it back and why they never will allow more houses.
