Crafting is making me want to quit!

Firstly you cannot rebind LMB which makes the controls less comfortably, secondly you make one mistake and you are screwed, thirdly even if you do get everything right you still get stiffed for not doing it fast enough! I hate time based challenges especially when the time doesn't afford much leway

perks associated with the crafting life help make them easier, also I dont think the intent is for every craft to be perfect without time spent practicing.

You just need to increase your skill. I get all good ratings and get perfect every time. It’s just like learning a trade in real life. If you don’t wanna do the mini game get the auto craft skill as early as possible. If you wanna quit still, go ahead, we don’t care?

Souns to me like you might be neglecting your craftign skill a little bit too much.When I have at least the recommended level of skill for a craft I usually get at least a + result, meaning that even with several mistakes I still would not fail the craft itself. So running out of crafting cycles should only be something that happens if you're doign a craft that's a good bit above your crafting skill.

So in other words: Simply get better crafting tools, put more skill points into raising your skill and get some strangelings with a Crafting Life and befriend them to get huge bonuses to your Crafting skill so your crafting skill is that high that you only rarely get the situation where you encounter a recipe for which you have too little skill. And if you do then simply don't craft it.

Im disabled I physically cannot do some of the crafts to progress because they require fast reflexes. I don't understand why there isn't a cozy option especially when combat and gathering isn't this difficult

I am trying to do the Tropical Sofa craft for the introduction quest and despite hitting all in time it was still 80%

Sure but how for some reason the craft is 100 and i am 81 but I can't continue to get better

Then I suggest you to spend your talents into more Carpenter mastery points or buy a better tool!

You will have a bad time if you are below the recommended level.

Get on the class you're struggeling with and wander around and just gather anything that isnt nailed down. Fight stuff get exp. Craft some basic materials until you're level 5. Open the skill tree and unluck crafting skill +5 every time it pops up. Go to a tool shop and sell what you dont think you need and buy a tool thats above rented tier. Retry the craft you're stuck on

Shouldn't alone the default copper/oak tool already have a whole 85? 81 sounds like you're still using the trial tool. The equipment store sells all the default tools so simply buying it should be good enough. Though completing the tutorial quest for your Life should also give it to you. And you can find even better versions of it randomly in the wild when chopping down trees or mining ores or fighting enemies.
