Deck Verified But Frequent FPS Drops?
Just got the game and it's pretty unplayable with the amount the FPS drops below 20. I pan the camera in the starting area and it just SINKS. Is this normal? How is this Deck verified with such performance issues?

I personally haven't had any frame rate issues on my deck, I have it set to 60 fps and turned off bloom/glow effects because I just don't like them. Played for about 7 hours in the new area and didn't notice any lag/frame drops. Maybe it's setting related?
I'm not sure what setting it could be. This game is unplayable on my deck. Even the title screen sometimes drops to 15fps and won't go above 20. I actually just tried again, the framerate dropped to 15 and wouldn't go back up even after like 2 minutes

is your storage drive too full? try to clear some space on the main drive and SD, on both no matter where it's stored and restart the deck
No, I have 500gb free on my microSD and 420gb free on the internal storage.

I think I might have fixed it by forcing Proton Experimental.

the game had a few drops on default settings, I lowered shadows and removed "DoF"
my game runs locked at 60fps ( running the original LCD steamdeck )

if you want can I double check exactly what my settings are, otherwise make sure your deck is updated and you're running the newest proton version :)

Mh, Proton Experimental and 720p medium details ingame here, and no framedrops under the 60s.

oh yeah, disable motion blur and depth of field. most probably assume everyone does that by default

Just adding this so people aren't scared to play on Deck, The only issue i ran into on Day 1 of early access on my Deck oled was that the resolution was locked at 1200 (black bars top and bottom which has now been patched) other than that the game has run amazingly smooth. i turned off bloom at the beginning. since then i have personally not run into NOTICEABLE frame drops. (i do not track frames while i play.)

I've been playing solely on my LCD Steam Deck since full launch and haven't had any issues at all.

It took me a little bit to figure this out – but it’s HDR. Turn it off and you’ll be all good. An easy way to do so is to go to the graphics settings and hit the “Default” button.

There is another thread by someone below where the game was running fine until they updated the steam deck and now same issue as you. I am not updating my steam deck until hopefully this gets resolved.
