Thanks for your question. The driver version is 576.52 released May 19.
Flashing lights, artifacting... something doesn't looks right.
As the game runs on UE5, uses literally all the units of the gpu, so if something's bogus...
The machine in question runs Monster Hunter Wilds almost perfectly, I'm aware that that's a different engine and isn't necessarily comparable, but I suspect his video card is working as intended for the most part.
Currently, Fantasy life is running OK, but the cutscenes are in slow motion. The artifacting is only present on lower resolutions. The stuttering is only present when we lock the framerate.
On the highest resolution the game supports, with an unlocked framerate, there are no performance issues outside of cutscenes. Locking the framerate to 30 fixes the cutscenes, but causes large amounts of stuttering and slow down. We've tried with VSync on and off and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and give advice. I feel bad about recommending this excellent game only to have it run so poorly on his machine, which is superior to mine.
I also wanted to add a data point to the other two threads I've seen about this exact issue. It seems like it's an extreme minority problem, so I appreciate the attempt to help.
The game has been running at an absolutely locked 120FPS for me on a 6700XT at 1440p with not so much as a single frametime spike anywhere.
I can almost guarantee that anybody having issues is running into a driver related problem.
60 fps? perfect. 120 fps? perfect. 75? 144? (unlocking framerate + enabling vsync) == strange behaviour
Just set the frame limiter to 60 and disable vsync. Will run smooth.
Cutscenes being slow and then the game being choppy after just sounds like stuttering thanks to bad RAM or faulty RAM.
Card should be fine.
go back to 572.42 like the february one was the last one where things was "fine."
