Performance Issues
I've been playing this game for the last two days with no issues at all, and it's a 10/10 for me. I've got a 4060.

I enthusiastically recommended another, he has a 4060 TI. It doesn't run on his hardware very well at all, and now hkx first three hours with the game have been a pretty frustrating experience. We've spent several hours troubleshooting it, and I've seen a couple other threads that mention the issue, but I'm hoping someone has found a solution.

At first, the cutscenes played in slow motion. Turning off vsync and locking the fps to 30 fixed that. That caused a large horizontal tearing line to be present. Changing the resolution fixed that. Lower resolutions cause flashing lights and artifacting to appear everywhere. Higher resolutions work fine.

Now the game periodically becomes very choppy, and it doesn't resolve until an area transition. This is where we're at. He has to duck into houses every few minutes to fix the framerate. Has anyone else had any similar problems? Any other 4060 ti users? Any ideas?

Whats your driver version with it?

Thanks for your question. The driver version is 576.52 released May 19.
I would say "try furmark on that system" plus "memtestx86+"
Flashing lights, artifacting... something doesn't looks right.

As the game runs on UE5, uses literally all the units of the gpu, so if something's bogus...
Yeah something is very not right here. I would echo running a stress test on the system. OCCT works, too if individual tests are too much hassle.
Thank you for your advice, we're going to look into running the stress tests. In the meantime I'd like to mention a couple things.
The machine in question runs Monster Hunter Wilds almost perfectly, I'm aware that that's a different engine and isn't necessarily comparable, but I suspect his video card is working as intended for the most part.

Currently, Fantasy life is running OK, but the cutscenes are in slow motion. The artifacting is only present on lower resolutions. The stuttering is only present when we lock the framerate.
On the highest resolution the game supports, with an unlocked framerate, there are no performance issues outside of cutscenes. Locking the framerate to 30 fixes the cutscenes, but causes large amounts of stuttering and slow down. We've tried with VSync on and off and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and give advice. I feel bad about recommending this excellent game only to have it run so poorly on his machine, which is superior to mine.
I also wanted to add a data point to the other two threads I've seen about this exact issue. It seems like it's an extreme minority problem, so I appreciate the attempt to help.
There is definitely some kind of optimization that needs to happen. Even on a number of both old and newer systems a ton of people are reporting the exact same problems.

The game has been running at an absolutely locked 120FPS for me on a 6700XT at 1440p with not so much as a single frametime spike anywhere.

I can almost guarantee that anybody having issues is running into a driver related problem.
My partner's found that simply reducing graphics settings across the board will fix the slow-mo cutscenes - it's likely just one thing causing it, but I can't say which for sure. It's probably not the FPS limit, but neither of us have the patience to test them all.
Just a kindly remind that engine only "understands" framerates divisible by 2.

60 fps? perfect. 120 fps? perfect. 75? 144? (unlocking framerate + enabling vsync) == strange behaviour

Just set the frame limiter to 60 and disable vsync. Will run smooth.
Disabling :csgostar: Global Light settings :csgostar: solved our problem here at home. on a RTX 1060 was lagging , but not on my 2060.
What is your RAM config and what slots are they in if you're using 2 stick kits?

Cutscenes being slow and then the game being choppy after just sounds like stuttering thanks to bad RAM or faulty RAM.

Card should be fine.
Hello, I’m running into same issues with similar specs. Did you and your friend manage to fix the issue causing it ?
I'm Running a 3090 and The Game could Run at 120fps4k no Problem, but Everytime a loading scene happens it bogs itself down to unstable 30, going into settings and changing the Framerate fixes that, and the area and game become butter smooth again, next loading screen my eyes are hurting again...

so you´re on the newest nvidia driver releases where everyone says "dont install them, nvidia screwed lately up with its last 2 gpu drivers."

go back to 572.42 like the february one was the last one where things was "fine."
