Really Bad Performance

With over 300 games in my libary on steam this one is one of the few which leaded to a complete meltdown of my desktop Pc. (first game freezes, then pc shuts down)

Currently there is no "normal" way to set the resolution to a lower setting when playing on fullscreen. It switches right back to the previous setting when changing anything. I edited the games ini file to make the changes permanent.

Now the game runs on 30Fps with very low graphic quality. The games recommended
system requirements are: Win10 (64bit) / I 7 (4Ghz) / 8 GB RAM / Geforce GTX 1060 (4GB RAM)
My system meets all the recommended requirements... Do you need some kind of NASA- spaceship- system to play this game? I get the feeling, that the build-in anti cheat engine is causing all this.

I have a 8 year old PC with a GTX 1080 built in. And the game runs perfect for me in 1920x1080 and all graphical settings on high. i also do not have trouble with saving settings in the option menu - really cant help u there but i hope someone will have an answer for your troubles with the game altough it is hard to find a solution cause every system is different.

I think your situation is unusual. Most people have said it is running great.

I know some had issues starting it, but issues have been much more rare than with other titles.

so first problem, i see you listed the games requirements but not your specs, in what world can anyone assist you not knowing your specs. might just want to add your specs to your OP

Doubtful I'm running on a steam deck, def not a gaming rig lol

though that forced anti cheat thing that runs alongside it may be the cause for issues..

your using an entry level graphics card from 9 years ago. I wouldn't say you need NASA grade space technology to run a UE4 game.

You are scraping against the wall of playability recommended specs specs is only for 1080 @ 60 fps on Medium.

If your getting less then that you need to look at what else is running on your system or perhaps you need to refresh your system. Many factors can come into play. The game may need 8gb of ram on the PC but if your already eating all 8 GB the game is going to struggle. If your running chrome with 20 tabs and Netflix and discord you might be already straining your system.

What is your storage system are you still using a Spinning Hard disk drive ( HDD ) if so if its a 5400 RPM drive the game may struggle to load game data at a reliable speed.

If you could also more precisely give us your specs that may help a bit more.

f11 the second time I launched it went into winow'd mode, f11 put it back and it stayed, unless you have ultrawide then alot of folks are having issues with that

Hi, thats right. I`m using an old graphic card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 with 4GB) but played games with it, that required much more graphic power on high settings. (Like Resident Evil 4 Remake or Dragon Quest XI)
Those are running smoothly in 60Fps even on 4k resolutions.

As I said: I`m not able to set the games resolution in the first place.
Unless, I edit the ini file... I also never made the experience of a game, that freezes my pc completely.

My other specs are: Win10/64bit / Intel I7 (4Ghz) / 16GB RAM storage and yes, its a 2 TB HDD. I´m aware that this has an impact on performance too, but isn`t mentioned in the games system recommendations.
