Astist Life Tutorial Mission is too hard
I did get the advanced edition of the game and I did get to the point where the Artist Life was available so I took the thing and as a game tester I am I tried out the tutorial mission to see if they made it balanced. Turns out even if you hit excellent in all your crafting checks of the final object you still end up with 3% short of what you would need to craft it.

Fix this issue for the love of god.

The only way around this issue is to craft yourself a brush and do this quest which is rather stupid IMO.

You can also just buy a brush. Alternatively, you can level up a bit. I will agree though that the balance on this one feels a bit off.

You have to have Sugar Lumber to complete the craft, so there's no way you can't access a strong enough brush at that point.

It's definitely the toughest tutorial life mission due to how late you unlock it in the game and because it doesn't have as much time to build experience as other classes.
In addition to DRayX's suggestion, I recommend levelling up by crafting Blue paints for a bit. You can gather the necessary materials for blue paint outside nearby. The blue flowers spawn commonly right out of town which gives you just enough to complete it on time.

Yes! This is key! The actual task of creating the mask is Level 3! So create a bunch of blue paint (a few times crafting it and you'll make it to level 3) and you probably already have all the blue flowers you need for the blue paint. Then in the skill board choose to increase Artistry +5 twice and you'll be golden.
not really, you just need to do something a lil bit

you cant just breeze through every crafting life with the rental tool, thats the entire point of the tutorial giving you a hard item to make, to teach you that you need to invest in better tools

alternative you could alsol have an artist buddy to boost the artist skill for it

I mean you could just "Skip" the tutorial. It's basically what I started doing, since it all comes down to running back and forth and doing a mini-game anyways.

I skipped the Farmer, and Artist, and had no trouble at all.
