I read you need an epic account is that true?
Cause if it is im not buying the game, not gonna pay 70 euro for a game on this platform just to require another platform to play it cause the devs of this game are out of touch with reality.

No it didn't. Epic Online Services did. Those are two different things.

You need to install epic game bs, but no need for an account unless you want cross progression

The Steam page doesn't mention that you need one and I also never got asked to login anywhere. Though you do need it if you want to use the cross save feature as that's dine via Epic. But as long as you stay on Steam it shouldn't be needed.

I believe the epic account is only required if you want to use the cross-save feature

Well technically steam not always mentions if a game needs an outside account to play the game. Some games mention it but some dont. But since you own the game and say you dont need it than i take you on your word since you spend close to 14 hours in it.

Well, sadly I do have the EGS installed, so I can't exclude the possebility that it did just automatically use my login for something. I at least know that it did something Epic related when I first started the game, but no idea if it required my account data for it but from what PewPew said it seems like it's not needed.
Some of us like to double dip on special games.
Separate Game Purchase: You will need to purchase the game separately for each platform (PS5 and Steam).
Epic Games Account: You will need an Epic Games account to enable cross-save functionality.
Online Subscriptions: Online play may require subscriptions to services like PlayStation Plus or Steam.
Digital Deluxe Edition Content: If you purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition, you may need to purchase it again on the second platform to access the bonus content there.

You do not need EGS installed for games that use Epic Online Services. You don't even need an Epic account.

All you need is the epic dependencies its to run multiplayer. Unreal Engine has a really smooth implementation for multiplayer a lot of games use it.

No, the epic crap is for cross-save.

Don't have an epic game store account and don't have any of that kind of software installed and this game installed and ran fine. Genuinely not sure why people are telling you that you do. I guess if you want to do cross-save but I have all the features unlocked in steam including multiplayer without touching any outside 3rd party apps so.

Oh! I use Epic Store and the online service had the same black background :LaughingOwlcat:
Hmm i dont know, i mean i loved the old one on 3DS, it was a fun game, but even with the Epic account not being actually needed, its still a huge overkill with the price. 70 euro for this when at almost same time we have the release of Tales of Seikyu which costs only 40% of this games price. I think i will leave this one on wishlist and wait for a sale, to me the price is not justified here, its just overpriced cause Nintendo.

Thanks for all the answers everyone.

Btw, it's just 60€, 70€ is just the Deluxe Edition that has a few cosmetics.

And sure, waiting for a discount is certainly a decent strategy.
