Running Install Script

How do I run the game ? It says "Running Install Script" forever...

Pretty sure I had this same issue with Elden Ring where it didn't install EAC with the game. Running EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe that't you'll find in the games folder should solve it.

And yes, EAC sucks ass, we've been over that already.

No, I have a permission I must accept before it says "Running install script" and after, it just lock on this message and then, nothing

You can try closing the game and launching again

>Play>accept>close>play>accept>it actually runs

If you have/had another game opened it can stop installer since installer wants full control and the existing anticheat from your other game will not hand control over.

This step took 20+ Minutes to complete for me.
Game also take about 3 minutes to start on my sytem.

I was nosing around at the files today because it took WAY too long for the game to start, trying to figure out why the install script took WAAAAY too long to run.

In the installation folder I noticed a file called: "InstallScript.vdf". I opened this in Notepad++ (any notepad should work) and noticed something on line 15.

The word Install in Install_EasyAntiCheat_Service is mispelled. I cant remember what it actually was since I've since then saved and closed the file. But there was a letter added in the word Insta[x]ll where the [x] is located. I fixed this misspelling error and now the game starts within seconds after pressing the play button.

This might be the error thats causing the game to have problems starting. Its trying to run the script but hangs on line 15 becuase it cant find the file (since its misspelled).

I can tell you that it adds it anyways. I did have to close the first time and hit play again to get it to run.

Do keep this in mind that it has to be changed again after the recent update.

for the first install on my steamdeck it tooks also 30 minutes because of anticheat crap but then its ok. and like other here say, starting took weird long and sometimes u have to start it twice ^^

For me what worked was going into the local files (Steam/steamapps/common/FANTASY LIFE i) and deleting the file called InstallScript.vdf

Also had a noticeable performance boost.

It's crazy that they know about this issue but won't fix it and reintroduce the issue with each update like they just did. It's literally one line of code. Amateur behavior
