So slow and annoying.
I couldnt push myself through the start - it's just soooo slow and boring and the story is just... boring and cliche. everything is slow people talk slow, your quests or objectives are just slow and boring. I dont understand the hype - its a terrible game.

cool, leave a review then. bye
I’m 4 hours in and feel the same way, sadly. I think you need to give it some time though. I’m reading it doesn’t pick up until chapter 2? There is still lots I haven’t even experienced (based off the videos) but I hear you. I’m not sold personally, but I’m willing to put in more time because I can’t refund at this point and spent a lot of money on this game. I’m disappointed.

I kind of felt like they made the tutorial longer than 2 hours so you can't refund - since it feels loooooong and boring.
But yeah might aswell try to get further in, but having like no fun in 3 hours is kinda bad, found myself ignoring stuff just to hit a few mobs to have a sense of adventure :P

Not everyone likes every game. No big deal. Go find something else you enjoy.

Sounds like you're rushing it. I'm over 9 hours in and haven't left tutorial island yet as I try to get my first two levels in every Life. Great game. Highly recommend. :steamhappy:

why do ppl think its important to shout out all their stupid opinions? you dont like the game? refund it and go play something different - but saying the game is "terrible" because its not your taste is just stupid...

That means, this game is not for you, maybe play competitive games like CS2, Dota 2, Valorant, because competitive games are fast. Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing is slower than this game but those games sold millions and have overwhelming positive reviews, so I don't see any problem on the game's pacing right now.

its one of those games that does not pick up until you get key skills and upgrade gear a little, then it picks up again when you get access to multiplayer, or the single player equivalent of it (buddy system), having 4 people run around that you gear up and you can make do tasks really adds to the game
I think I’m over 7 hours in, and I love the game. I think it can be slow at times depending what you’re doing at any given time. Sometimes it feels slow because you have to grind for certain materials, or certain conditions for complete quests. Sometimes crafting feels repetitive because no matter the crafting life you still press the same buttons and it’s the same minigame. When I think it’s starting to feel slow, I usually switch to a different life and work on a different goal or quest for awhile. There is a lot you can do in the game, I haven’t unlocked everything. There’s 3 different overworld maps that have their own areas/ maps to unlock and explore. The 14 jobs/ lives are somewhat unique although the mechanics are the same, you get a new life and work your way up the ranks which can feel repetitive. But, they do give you the option to skip the tutorial for each new life, and for each skill you can unlock the ability to skip the minigames so you don’t have to do them. Also, in the options settings you can speed up the dialogue so it’s not as slow. Give the game a chance, look at the settings to change them to your preference, and work towards small goals. It is completely valid that the game is not to your taste; however, that does not make the game terrible for everyone. The game feels very polished and I haven’t encountered any bugs, the visuals are coherent, there is a wide array of content available. Ask yourself what you find slow and boring about the game, as it’s more akin to old RPGs. Personally, I cannot play pixel 2D farm sims anymore because I got bored of them, but I am loving Fantasy Life I. I even pay attention to the dialogue and find it mostly intriguing. They’ve added humour too so it’s not so bad. Hope you find a game to your liking.

Saying it's a terrible game because the start is slow isn't a fair review. Plenty of games start slow and end up becoming the best game ever. Also, keep in mind that this is a complete reboot and rebrand of the series. Unlike most "cozy" games, the story is very important to the game play and progression of the game. They take time in the start to explain the story rather than throwing you into it without knowing anything. Once you get past the start, it's a really charming game. If you took the time and had the patience to at least get through the tutorial maybe you would find a love for the game. The content is insane and is easily 100+ hours.

You haven't really got in the story and saying it is cliche do you even know what that means. This story has tons of factors that you barely see in games. I'm so tired of people who think they know what they are talking about judging things when they don't. The slowest part of this game is gathering which extremely picks up once you get the charge skill. The story is quirky and goofy and likes to fourth wall break every once in awhile.

My few complaints about this game is how it uses the word they instead of he or she. Especially when it comes to your character. Where my wife wants to wear the female apprentice gear, but it always defaults to giving you the male variant since you can't choose sex and there has been no indication that you can access the female variants yet. Silly things that poorly affect a great game if you can move pass them, but would be better if they were not the case.

Perhaps consider that a game may be made for an audience that doesn't include you
