No voice acting in 2025.
C'mon, the little tiny bits of audio to accompany paragraphs of writing is a thing from the days of PSX. I'd prefer complete silence to the little noises in place of actual dialogue.

You don't need to hire a-list voice actors like Steve Blum, in fact you don't even need a professional voice actor...get your coder with a deep voice to run some lines. Put out a Reddit post and pay people $20 to send you some clean audio files. There's so many options these days to get voice work done for cheap.

honestly im not a fan of voice acting a lot of times. I can read way faster and I often find myself feeling like i need to wait on the voices. it's not a serious kinda game that would need it I feel

no, because that would mean English VAs would get more money.
It's pretty common for Japanese games to have little to no voice acting, chief.

Is this your first JRPG?
It does have voice acting, it was an artistic choice not to have the voice actors read the lines directly.

If there was full voice acting I'd stop listening to it like two hours in and just read the text.
Not needed and for me, completely unwanted.
full voice acting means the content in other areas would drop, so I'd rather have what we got right now

It's a style choice and intentional, not a flaw. That said, I can't stand the one word responses in this game specifically, they often contradict what the person is saying or don't match the tone. I'd honestly have rather just had no voice over at all, personally.

100% not needed nor wanted

I'm happy with the game as is. Personally I would rather the devs focus on other aspects of the game.

It's okay you can just learn to read. There are so many amazing games that are 90% reading, don't limit yourself.
majority, it is not needed as most players skip it due to how fast they read.
