FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Multiplayer isn't* disappointing *LIFE QUESTS FIXED*
Why is it so restrictive? Life quests at least still tracked online in the first game even if you couldn't report to the life master while online. Any why the timer? This kinda sucks and not what I was expecting as a fan of the first game. Edit: they patched it so life quests now track in multiplayer :D

You unlock it once you get the guild building at your home base in the present time. Walk into the back room and talk to the guy behind the desk.

Thanks for replying. I unlocked house slept went to past so you need to build the guild there or something? I see lots of broken buildings. Also I agree it sucks can’t do everything in multiplayer if the time limit runs out can you just invite them again or do they make you wait?
I think the time limit is just for the "activity" you're doing. I don't think it boots anyone probably just brings you back to home base I would guess.

You just need to progress the story and you will get the guild building in your home base.

So is like theres like a limit to do the dungeon so you are not stuck farming it there?

It's not even specifically the dungeons. It's going around the past and such too. I think the past was 30 min. And the desert was like an hour I think. I'm gonna keep playing but I'm just not a fan of how multiplayer is set up. While at the home base though it's unlimited time. No limit there.

It's a bit weird, it's basically very monster hunter in its approach.

You choose an activity and then the activity starts and is on a timer (depending on which activity you do). And at the end you have an end screen.

I get why it's like that to party with random people but to play with friends it's a bit odd.

I haven't had enough time with it yet to make a definitive judgement but to me the only point of multiplayer is exploring Ginomorsia and doing dungeons, and eventually visting your friend's islands.

But don't expect progressing your quests together. It seems you can't even craft in multiplayer which is kinda wild to me but I'm unsure about this one because it specified in your base so it might be doable elsewhere (I doubt it).

I can understand the multi platform and the fact that Level 5 wants to protect children put a lot of limits on online multiplayer but the no crafting, no quest and constant timer is a bit overkill when you play with friends.
Can you exchange items in multiplayer ?

Yeah you can gift stuff by talking to the same guy you talk to start multiplayer.

For now I left a negative review with my complaint about multiplayer. Love the single player story and stuff but they had it right in the first game and messed it up here somehow.

Can you explain in detail about co-op? I was looking to buy it for co-op for my family so we can play together, but not if it's not actually multiplayer.

There is no couch co-op if that is what you want. Multiplayer is only online and is restricted in many ways it seems. Story quests were always disabled in multiplayer in the first game so that's fine to me. But your life quests in order to level up and get new skills and such are also disabled while online. You can't even access the skill point menu online. When you go out and do stuff with your friends it puts you on a time limit before the activity ends for some reason. Instead of being able to just go about the world at your own pace. The Ginomorsia area seems fairly large and has a longer time when you go there. I think maybe there are randomly generated dungeons from what my friend was saying he heard but I didn't get to that yet.

Man. You weren't kidding. They really did screw up hard on the multiplayer aspect of this game. I remember back in the first game, my buddy and I would always visit each others town so that we could essentially share most of our experience and loot with each other even when we were idle or busy with real life tasks. It made grinding for the higher ranks much more bearable since they required a ton of experience and objectives for crafting + gathering + hunting.

The timed aspect doesn't allow for idling while you/your friend grinds. The restricted activities prevents you from doing a story co-op playthrough with your friend. The isolated areas prevents multitasking different regions at once.

I hate to say this because I am truly enjoying this game but I will most likely not enjoy multiplayer compared to the previous entry. [Unless this is somehow an advanced access which I am HOPING it is.]

Do we get harder enemies / rare drops on MP or what is the benefit of it?
Hopefully this can be improved upon with a patch in the future if enough ppl complains about it.
